Valentine’s Day Fit for Two!
I had the pleasure of having a wonderful Staycation at the Fairmont DC with my hetero-life partner, Jessica. One of the highlights of our stay was dinner at Juniper Restaurant. They pride themselves on local, seasonal and sustainable and you can tell in the dishes they serve!
We had the opportunity to try out their four course Valentine’s day tasting menu. I started with the Roasted Kabocha Squash Soup, Creme Fraise, and Crushed Amaretti which was heavenly. Than I had the salad of crispy goat cheese, baby greens and tomato-mango chutney which was different but also so good! My third course was herb roasted beef tenderloin with crispy grit cake, mushroom ragout and parsley oil. I’m already planning a return trip because I saw that they have sticky toffee pudding which is my FAVORITE so I’ll be heading back to try that out!
Something very cool I learned while there is that Juniper has Bees!! Juniper is host to rooftop honeybees. their Chefs incorporate honey, bee pollen, and honey comb into our innovative dishes, including our famous Honey Wheat Bread and BeeTini.
Overall I would HIGHLY recommend Juniper as a great place to go for a special night or to take visiting guests!! The food is delicious and you will not be disappointed!
