Lapis + LaPop: What are Afghan cocktails? Experimental Cocktail Night series kicks off 
What: On 7/12 and now 7/13 (based on demand!) at 5pm at LaPop (the vinyl cocktail bar underneath Lapis), The Popal Group will explore the answer to the question “What Are Afghan Cocktails.” Since there isn’t a prolific alcohol consumption culture in Afghanistan, the group will explore how Afghan flavors complement alcohol by partnering with specific distilleries or spirit producers. For this first event in the ongoing series, the Popal Group has partnered with Westward Distillery (rated one of Whiskey Advocates’ Top Five Whiskeys). Each $5 ticket must be purchased before the day of, and provides guests with a welcome taster of a house made infusion or liqueur. Guests can expect fun cocktails and curated small plates from Chef Shamim Popal and the Lapis kitchen.
