This week is a bit light on the 4th of July celebrations cause recent Supreme Court decisions don’t have us feeling really free and equal and we don’t feel like celebrating. Fourth of July Celebration feat- Danger Bird (A Tribute to Neil Young) **Free Show**

Danger Bird is Mid-Atlantic’s premier Neil Young tribute band. Launched in 2016, Danger Bird has been packing venues and thrilling audiences ever since their very first performance. Comprising five seasoned veterans of the DMV (DC, MD, VA) live music scene, their experience and professionalism ensure consistently excellent and entertaining shows. Five For Fighting
What: Five for Fighting is the stage name of U.S. singer-songwriter John Ondrasik. His 2000 album America Town went platinum in the U.S. due to the success of the song “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” in late 2001. The 2004 album The Battle For Everything has also enjoyed chart success in the United States. John has also released a Dual Disc of his 2004 album which has one side containing The Battle for Everything in its entirety and the other side being a DVD containing bonus footage and the “100 Years” music video.

Never in Our Image – ACT II – A Gun Melting Ceremony
What: During ACT II – A Gun Melting Ceremony, raw pitches and tones will be sampled from the act of melting the cut pieces collected in ACT I. As the former weapons are cast into musical instruments and sculptural art pieces, the hissing and popping of the action will be recorded for use in the final Act. Organ pipes attached to the iron furnace and the casting molds will create pitches and vibrations, creating a meditative sound experience for the audience. Singers, musicians, and dancers will respond to the various sounds of guns being destroyed and transformed into sonic sculptures and instruments.

The Joy of African Movement

Atlas Farms, the regenerative organic farm from Baltimore-based Atlas Restaurant Group, is now offering farm fresh produce for purchase! Crop share will be available from late June through October, with a variety of specialty vegetables available including herbs, shishito peppers, radishes, lettuce, tomatoes, and rainbow chard. Pickup will be held weekly at The Choptank in Fells Point.

Lapis + LaPop: What are Afghan cocktails? Experimental Cocktail Night series kickoff (7/12)
On 7/12 at 5pm at LaPop (the vinyl cocktail bar underneath Lapis), The Popal Group will explore the answer to the question “What Are Afghan Cocktails.” Since there isn’t a prolific alcohol consumption culture in Afghanistan, the group will explore how Afghan flavors complement alcohol by parenting with specific distilleries or spirit producers. For this first event in the ongoing series, the Popal Group has partnered with Westward Distillery Westward Distillery (rated one of Whiskey Advocates Top Five Whiskeys).
