Hello friends!! Join us every Wednesday for the events not to miss in the coming weeks.  While our google calendar is great, sometimes events can get lost in the sauce.  So here are some events we are excited for in the coming week!!

 

Beyonce Dance Class at Yards Park 7/11
Who: Beyonce Dance Class
What: Back for year 2! Join us for complimentary a hour dance class featuring choreography to Beyonce’s best music videos! Dancers of all levels will learn step-by-step choreography, taught by a local instructor.

Words Beats & Life Presents…Chinatown Summer Block Party
Who: Words Beats & Life
What: Every Friday evening this summer it’s time to unwind after a long week and enjoy the many arts that our city has to offer. Time to relax and take in the vibrant downtown community! Words Beats and Life brings you hip-hop arts and more for your enjoyment and participation. You can:
Scratch Records with a husband and wife duo, DJ Ra
Get Messy with Graffiti – create a tag or a piece of art!
Rule the Mega Chess Board, Giant Jenga, Connect 4, and Cornhole
Jump and Dance into Double Dutch
Get Colorful with Silk Screening (bring your own T-shirt/fabric if you like!)
Play the DC Lottery – Lots of People Play! Meet the DC Lottory team at the Lucky Lottery Mobile
Lounge and bounce to music by special guests Words Beats & Life’s own Beat Junkies

Bastille Day DC 2018 – Celebrating Alsace
Who: Bastille Day DC
What: Take a trip to one of the most iconic regions of France for Bastille Day!
On Friday July 13th, start your trip to France by tasting a selection from the best local chefs’, participate in our silent auction filled with wonderful items, and sip a glass of wine in the patio while listening to live music. Who is Trevor Paglen? Trevor Paglen is a conceptual artist with activist intentions. Paglen’s photographs and installations expose things we are not meant to see, whose concealment he regards as symptomatic of the historical moment we inhabit and invite us to envision alternative futures.
