Behold. Her Portrait Session: Bare It All
Who: Genevieve
What: “BARE it ALL”
With the holidays rapidly approaching, Behold. Her and Underbares are teaming up to talk about coping with holiday induced anxiety, practicing self-love, and finding comfort being in our own skins. Join us at BUREAU studio on Wednesday, November 14th, 2018 for a stimulating conversation and an intimate portrait experience. Gather with women who want to hear your story and willing to share their own.  Join Behold. Her’s special guest and discussion leader, Genevieve , founder & creative director at Underbares, for an honest and nuanced conversation with women at the gorgeous BUREAU studio. We’ll be focusing our energy on developing self worth during a time of year where we’re constantly biting our tongues at the table. We’ll be sharing the table with other women who are wanting to discuss their holiday anxieties and struggles with body image during holiday season (One woman admits that her mother is constantly pressuring her to eat meat despite her being a vegan for most of her life). This session will include a lot of vulnerability as we’ll be photographing portraits at this event wearing Underbares’s bras. You won’t be the only one getting out of your comfort zone and we have a team to lead you through the entire evening.
As women, we’re careful about what we share and how we share, that it has built barriers. This event is meant to challenge you, to push you to break from the norm, and to give you permission to share your story unapologetically.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A small welcome drink and snack, organically led conversation, portraits and interviews of each participants with Behold. Her Founder and Photographer, Leah Beilhart. These images and audio recordings will be used online, adding to an online gallery of faces and voices. This is in a documentary style format.
HOUSE RULES
No phones will be used until the end of the event
No business cards or needing to say what you do
RESPECT privacy
WHAT YOUR TICKET INCLUDES
Your ticket includes small bites, drinks, a private space, an interview and portrait session. You do not get to choose the image (to alleviate time with editing and publishing on time), but you do have the rights to download and use as you please. Requests will not be taken to purchase more images. If you’d like to receive a more in-depth photography session, it will need to be booked outside of Behold.Her. These images are a part of a documentary series. Special offer from BUREAU: 1 month FREE Membership or 25% OFF of an event rental for anyone that attends!
WHAT THE HELL IS A PORTRAIT EVENT These events combine intimate, roundtable discussions and documentary work. These portraits and audio interviews are to mark your moment in time sharing to the public your stand on the topic. We will ask three questions and have them recorded and later shared on our website library. We’re archiving women’s voices today so those tomorrow can listen, be inspired, and acknowledge your power and strength in this process.

Dish & Tell: Food Entrepreneurs’ Recipes for Success
Who: Daniel Pink
What: If you live to eat, eat to live, or want to make a living feeding others, hear from Rose Previte—owner of Maydan and Compass Rose Bar & Kitchen—and Chris Brady and Andrew Dana—co-owners of Timber Pizza Company—about their unexpected paths to becoming food entrepreneurs, lessons learned along the way, and tried-and-true advice for aspiring entrepreneurs. The conversation will be hosted by Daniel Pink, the author of several bestselling books about business, work, and behavior, including When, Drive, and To Sell Is Human.
Previte went from earning a Master’s Degree in Public Policy to launching celebrated restaurants inspired by her Lebanese roots and her travels across 30 countries. Maydan, a James Beard Award semi-finalist for Best New Restaurant in 2018, was recently named 2nd best restaurant in the country by Bon Apetit. Previte, one of Washingtonian’s “40 Under 40” top professionals to watch, is the host of WETA’s TV show “Check, Please! DC”
Brady and Dana left their jobs at a local tech company to pursue their passion for pizza, despite not knowing the first thing about it. They started out as a mobile, wood-fired oven pulled behind a 1967 Chevy truck, serving pizza at local farmers markets. Their brick-and-mortar location in Petworth, which opened in 2016, was named “Pizzeria of the Year” in 2017 by Bon Appetit and just made the 2018 Michelin Guide “Bib Gourmand” list. Dana is also set to launch Call Your Mother, a “Jew-ish” deli in Park View.

Greetings! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
